Small Insects cause big issues.
Temperatures drop in the winter outside more than inside our lovely heated homes/premises thankfully, this results in an increase in condensation and damp within almost all buildings. This can attract many insects such like Silverfish which feed enjoy and feed on mould. These small creatures chew into and through plaster, insulation and as they are nocturnal by nature, they can be difficult to notice in our homes and workplaces. To prevent these little creatures from entering your home or premises, ensure vegetation adjacent to doors and windows is maintained and plants aren’t placed too close to entrances as they often hide underneath. A common Booklice control method is to have a dehumidifier installed. Remove humidity in conjunction with a residual spray will assist hugely in control of these insects.
Rodents-On the increase in all parts of Scotland.
Rodents only require a 5 mm gap to enter properties,garages,huts and premises. Mice have no collarbone and a very flexible rib cage means they can fit through openings the size of their heads. At this time of year who doesn’t want a nice hot property ? Rodents will climb to access a good harbourage, gaps need to be sealed all around properties.
Once inside rodents will have a choice of lofts, floorboards and cavities. Pipes and Cable ducts provide a perfect route for rodents to travel and allows them to spread germs, cause destruction and possibly fires and floods as they chew through wiring and pipes.
